Happy Holidays! December always seems to be a whirlwind for us. Nicole and I are busy checking to-dos off both our respective personal and professional lists. We are also thinking ahead to 2026, including budgeting, setting goals, and planning for taxes. My planning mind is firing on all cylinders this time of year, and like Santa, I’m checking my list and checking it twice, or maybe dozens of times, daily.
This year, I have the honor of playing Santa Claus a couple of weekends in Murrells Inlet on the Marsh Walk. When it came time to drive down to SC for the commitment, I was a bit grumpy. I’m too busy. Why did I promise to do something that required extra time, knowing there was so much to do before the end of the year? It rained the whole drive down, and I constantly thought of tasks I needed to add to my work list. We have been working on a website redesign for several months, and the final draft is now ready for review. I had already been thinking about the meetings scheduled for January. I need to think about gifts, have the winter tires put on, and ensure we are on track for taxes. I also need to decide on health insurance for 2026 and find out what happened to my box of sweaters. You get it. In short, it's hardcore adult stuff that makes my attention-deficient brain go nuts.
When I arrived at my designated “Santa station,” a sailboat docked off the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, all the parking was full, and the crowds were lining up for the Holiday Parade. I was a bit short of jolly. As always, my mood changed. My first visitors were a young couple celebrating their first Christmas as newlyweds. They wanted a picture with Santa for the new family's first Holiday card. Next were two young children who wanted to make sure Santa knew how good they had been this year, along with a recently retired couple and their beloved Bernese Mountain dog. The afternoon flew by, smiles and well-wishes made me forget about the long list waiting for me. Gratitude and a few tears flowed; it was not a burden but a privilege.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives. Thank you for all the trust you place in us. Thank you. Next month, our new website is expected to be online, designed to enhance your financial success. We will be enhancing our communication and review process in 2026. Nicole and I would love to hear from you on how we can better serve you. Please let us know if there are areas that we can improve or enhance. Please also let us know if there are other families that we should get to know professionally and personally. Thank you (I can not say it enough) for allowing us to get to know you.
Happy Holidays, Health, and Happiness for many years to come.
